Cosmic Realms 2026 will launch its three-day celebration of science fiction, gaming and fandom with a Cosplay Karaoke Dance Party on Friday, Nov. 13. This event is FREE and open to the public! No ticket is required to attend this event.

The opening-night event will combine karaoke, dancing, and plenty of opportunities for guests to show off their favorite costumes. Attendees are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite science fiction characters, aliens, robots, space explorers or other fantastic creations.

A highlight of the evening will be the "Most Out of This World" Cosplay Contest, inviting attendees to compete for the title of the convention's most spectacularly cosmic costume. Costumes may be inspired by science fiction, fantasy, space exploration or the participant's own imagination.

This event is designed to provide a relaxed and welcoming way for attendees to meet one another and kick off the weekend before Cosmic Realms' full schedule of gaming, workshops, educational presentations, crafts and other activities begins Saturday.

"Friday the 13th seemed like the perfect night to launch Cosmic Realms," organizer Gretch Corley said. "We wanted to start the weekend with something fun, energetic and welcoming where people can come together, put on a costume, grab a microphone and let loose."

Concessions will be available during the event. Guests are welcome to participate in karaoke, dance, watch the festivities or simply socialize with other convention attendees. For those wanting to socialize outside of the limelight, we'll have the craft workshop open with a free workshop available: Decorating Frames For Your Favorite Trading Card. Ample indoor and outdoor seating areas will be available, as well as dedicated quiet zones where anyone overstimulated can rest till they're ready to rejoin the festivities.
