Cosmic Realms Con proudly welcomes back the acclaimed Augusta Youth Ballet of WV Dance Factory for a captivating Saturday performance on October 5, 2025. The nonprofit youth ensemble, fondly remembered for last year’s spellbinding interpretation of Jim Henson’s The Dark Crystal, will debut a work new to the con under the artistic direction of Nina M. Scattaregia.
Founded in 1994 by Scattaregia, WV Dance Factory has trained over 8,000 students across recreational, pre-professional, and adult programs. The studio’s child-centered philosophy emphasizes developmental progression, creative expression, and appreciation for the arts through degreed instructors with professional performance credentials. The Augusta Youth Ballet Company, comprising dancers aged 8-18, continues this legacy with annual productions that blend technical excellence with storytelling artistry.
"We dedicate ourselves to nurturing confidence, creative thinking, and artistic potential in every student," stated Scattaregia. "Dance transcends performance – it cultivates life skills that resonate through college and beyond, creating extraordinary learning opportunities through movement."
Attendees can expect meticulously crafted choreography and costuming signature to Scattaregia’s visionary direction. The performance will occur during Saturday programming at Heiner Hall, Battlers Knob.
Cosmic Realms Con runs October 4-5, 2025, at Battlers Knob in Philippi, West Virginia. Tickets are available at cosmicrealms.neocities.org or through Artefaktual Comics (304-460-5754).
